MFC Cebu booters shine (Grab Players 6 crown in 24th Aboitiz Football Cup) | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The Makati Football Club (MFC) Cebu thrashed Real Galaxy FC, 3-0 to emerge as champion in the Players 6 division of the 24th Aboitiz Football Cup over the weekend at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex along South Road Properties.

Seth Gabriel Enopia sparked MFC Cebu’s scoring spree after finding the back of the net with just three minutes gone by in the match.

Luis John Malinao and Banksy Maynard Estremos followed suit, drilling in consecutive goals at the 17th and 19th minute, respectively, to complete MFC Cebu’s shutout victory.

MFC Cebu reached the championship round after whipping Cebu United FC, 2-0, while Real Galaxy advanced after getting past the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles, 4-2.

SHS-AdC though still has something to be happy about as it blasted Cebu United FC, 4-1, to settle for third place.

Meanwhile, the Final Four cast in the Players 8 age group is now complete.

Sugbu Calidad FC rolled on to the semis after kicking out Bato Spartans FC, 3-2.

Don Bosco FC-C, Real Galaxy FC, and MFC Cebu also barged into the penultimate stage of the competition.

Don Bosco FC-C edged sister-team Don Bosco FC-B, 2-0, Real Galaxy FC subdued Looc FC, 3-1, while MFC Cebu tamed Cebu Football Club (CFC) Academy, 3-1.
