MG unveils new hybrid units

MG Philippines has officially launched two eagerly awaited models: the MG3, marking its entry into the B-segment hatchback category with a first-in-class hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) variant; and the G50 Plus, a new contender in the competitive MPV market.

Both models promise to deliver exceptional value, performance, and a range of advanced features tailored to meet the diverse needs of Filipino drivers.

MG3: Redefining the B-segment hatchback

The MG3 sets new standards in the B-segment hatchback category with its competitive pricing and the introduction of a first-in-class HEV variant. This new model aims to provide Filipinos with the best-value mobility option, combining efficiency, performance and style.

The MG3 features a modern aesthetic with LED/halogen headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, and power-folding mirrors. Inside, it boasts of a leather-style interior, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, offering a refined driving experience.

Equipped with push-button ignition, reverse parking sensors, an electric parking brake, four-wheel disc brakes, and a 360-degree-view camera, the MG3 ensures ease of use and safety. It also includes MG's Pilot Advance Driver Assist System with features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and pre-collision warning.

The MG3 is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine generating 118 horsepower (hp) and 150 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque, ideal for both city driving and highway cruising.

The HEV variant combines electric and petrol powertrains to produce 187 hp and 250 Nm of torque, offering impressive efficiency and performance. The hybrid system includes advanced technologies and a 3-speed hybrid transmission for a seamless driving experience.

The MG3 is available in six colors: St Moritz Blue, Extreme Speed Red, Morning Yellow, Moon White, Meteorite Black, and Blade Silver. Pricing starts at P678,888 for the STD MT variant, and up to P1.088 million for the Hybrid+ CVT (continuously variable transmission).
