Murillo delivers goods for Farm Fresh

MANILA, Philippines — Colombian Yeny Murillo provided Farm Fresh the boost it desperately needed as it survived Galeries Tower, 25-22, 35-37, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10, yesterday to claim its first win in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena.

Murilllo was an unstoppable force as she unleashed a match-high 29 points, most of which came in the final two sets when the Foxies turned a 2-1 deficit into their first victory in three starts.

“We have been working really hard, trying to get into the rhythm with each other because I thought my team needed this win, this motivation to keep pushing and pushing harder,” said Murillo.

Caitlin Viray also stepped up and scattered 18 points but later addressed the need to keep on improving and working harder.

“I’m happy, and though me lapses, natapos pa din namin siya at napanindigan namin. Pero marami pa talaga dapat trabahuhin,” she said.

Also providing the needed support were Trisha Tubu and Aprylle Cylde Tagsip, who chipped in 18 and 15 hits, respectively.

It was a fierce duel that was underscored by how the second set ended.
