Ombudsman OKs filing of graft raps vs Guanzon
THE Office of the Ombudsman has found probable cause to indict former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon for two counts of violation of Republic Act 3019, otherwise known as the «Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.»
The case stemmed from allegations made by lawyer Ferdinand Topacio and Diego Magpantay that Guanzon prematurely disclosed confidential information during interviews about the disqualification cases filed against then presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. before the Comelec.
