Pampanga takes opener

MANILA, Philippines — Pampanga got monster figures from Justine Baltazar and an all-around effort from JB Bahio to subdue San Juan, 86-82, on Saturday in Game 1 of their MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) Fifth Season North Division Finals at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

The 6-foot-8 Baltazar, the MVP race pacesetter, poured in 23 points on top of 20 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block, while the 6-foot-5 Bahio posted 14 points.
