Panthers gun for win No.3 | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers shoot for their third straight win as they battle against the Benedicto College Cheetahs in the college division of the 23rd Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) men's basketball tournament today at the Cebu Coliseum.

USPF hurdled its first two assignments against the Cebu Roosevelt Memorial Colleges (CRMC) Mustangs and the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras.

The Panthers hope to stretch their hot streak to three games as they clash with the Cheetahs at 6:45 p.m.

The Cheetahs hold an even 1-1 record. They triumphed in their league debut against the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Fighting Maroons but bowed down to the SWU-Phinma Cobras in their previous match.

In the 5:15 p.m. opener, the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Blue Dragons will try to get back in the winning track as they take on last year's runner-up City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy CBSAA) Trailblazers.

The Dragons got off to a rousing 2-0 start but had their first taste of defeat at the hands of the rampaging University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) Baby Webmasters last Saturday.

The Trailblazers, on the other hand, see to end their jinx after dropping back-to-back games against the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars and UCLM. — (FREEMAN)
