PBBM delivers land titles, machinery to Bicolano farmers

Camarines Sur – In the whole-of-government efforts to improve the lives of farmers and fisherfolks, a total of 1,965 Bicolano agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) received their land titles directly from President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III on June 7, 2024, at Fuerte Sports Complex, Pili, Camarines Sur.

The 2,115 distributed land titles covering 3,328.0973 hectares of agricultural land were generated under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) and the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project for ARBs across the provinces of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon.

In his third visit to Region V, President Marcos Jr. highlighted in his speech his administration’s commitment to expediting the distribution of land titles to ARBs, empowering farmers, and improving food security in the country.

“Magsisilbing tulay ang Certificates of Land Ownership Award at ang mga E-Titles na ito tungo sa mas marami pang oportunidad. Nang sa gayon ay mapagtagumpayan ninyo ang mga pagsubok na hinaharap ninyo — sa pagsubok sa buhay at matupad ang inyong mga pangarap,” the President said.

Estrella emphasized the convergence of government efforts and services to advance the lives of the Bicolanos and the economy of the Bicol region.

Present to witness the event were Department of Social Welfare (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr., and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. and other representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and Department of Science and Technology to turnover support services to farmers and fisherfolks of the Bicol region.

“Ang talagang itinuturing na kaaway ng ating Pangulo? Ang kahirapan ng kanyang mamamayan. Dahil dito, dala na niya ang kanyang buong gabinete dito sa Camarines Sur,” Estrella said.

Edgardo Sael, from Barangay Malinao, Libmanan, Camarines Sur, who just turned 70, voiced out his appreciation for his greatest gift, his own land title.

“Ako po ay lubos na nagagalak dahil
