PBBM distributes 9,832 debt condonation certificates to ARBs in Nueva Ecija

Palayan City, Nueva Ecija – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the distribution of 9,832 Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROM) to 6,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) covering 10,445.18 hectares of land, during his birthday, Friday, September 13, 2024, at Nueva Ecija Coliseum, Brgy. Singalat, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

Marcos said the certificates symbolize the fulfillment of the promise he made to erase the debts of the ARBs, which in Nueva Ecija alone will condone P227 million worth of ARB debt.

“Simula ngayon, magbabago ang buhay ng anim na libong magsasaka dito sa inyong lugar... Sa tulong nito, maiibsan ang bigat ng inyong mga pasanin at magkakaroon ang lahat [ng] pagkakataong makabangon at makapagsimulang muli,” the President said.

Apolinario A. Peralta, 75 years old, one of the COCROM recipients from Larcon, Bongabon, was provided with CLOA title number 16198 covering 22,743 square meters which condoned his debt amounting to P192,529.91.

“Laking pasasalamat ko sa mahal na Pangulo, wala na akong iisipin na utang. Yung perang pambayad ko sana ay magagamit ko para mapaunlad ang aking lupang sinasaka,” Peralta uttered.

Marcos also turned over a P41 million agri-credit assistance check to twelve (12) ARB organizations benefiting 471 ARBs under Accessible Loans for Empowered, Resilient, and Transformed (ALERT) Program of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in partnership with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

Marcos assured the ARBs of the continued support from the government: “Let us help one another to form a strong future where every farmer, fisherfolk, and Filipino family can rise from poverty and improve their lives.”

LBP Executive Vice President Alex Lorayes said that under the whole-of-government approach and as part of our partnership with DAR and the local chief executives in Nueva Ecija, LANDBANK remains fully committed to supporting the ARBs by providing accessible financing options and meaningful credit programs.

“We have allotted a P10-billion fund and launched this year the LANDBANK AGRISENSO Lending Program, to provide affordable financing to ARBs and the whole agriculture value-chain towards bolstering
