PDEA: Anti-drug drive nets over 6K high-value targets, P44.69B in seized drugs
THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has apprehended over 6,000 individuals considered as high-value targets in the continuing anti-drug operations of the Marcos Jr. administration.
In a report, PDEA said a total of 6,413 high-value targets have been apprehended from July 1, 2022 to May 31, 2024
A total of 97,445 drug personalities have been arrested by PDEA during the same period.
The agency said it has seized illegal substances amounting to P44.69 billion – shabu (5,813.77 kgs), cocaine (74.60 kgs), ecstasy (96,550 pcs), and marijuana (3,907.17 kgs).
PDEA said the arrests and seizures were the result of their 71,591 anti-drug operations conducted since July 1, 2022.
The anti-drug operations also led to 28,825 barangays being tagged “drug cleared,” leaving 6,691 communities still “drug affected.”.
PDEA’s operations also led to 1,021 drug dens and 1 drug laboratory being dismantled.
