PH supports peace between 2 Koreas
PHILIPPINE Ambassador to South Korea Theresa Dizon-de Vega reaffirmed the Philippines' commitment to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula during a United Nations Command (UNC) meeting at Seoul's Ministry of Defense Convention Center on April 5.
Dizon-de Vega highlighted the Philippines' collaborative efforts with the UNC, citing the deployment of Philippine military personnel to UNC-led exercises in 2023 and the country's proactive role in military logistics and other cooperative ventures.She also relayed the Philippines' grave concerns over North Korea's nuclear program, advocating for its complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization in compliance with international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions.The UNC's current membership includes the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Turkey, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, the Netherlands, Colombia, Greece, New Zealand, Belgium, France, South Africa, Norway, Denmark and Italy.It was established as a multinational military force to support South Korea during and after the Korean War.
