PLDT, Choco eye share of PVL lead

MANILA, Philippines — PLDT and Choco Mucho aim to regain a share of the lead when they face Farm Fresh and Akari, respectively, today in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The High Speed Hitters will ride the crest of a pulsating 25-20, 25-12, 23-25, 11-25, 15-13 win over the Flying Titans last Tuesday and should come into their 4 p.m. duel with the Foxies (2-3) oozing with confidence.

Savannah Davison, who had a 21-point effort the last time, loved her team’s perseverance.

“I’m just glad our training has paid off. We really worked hard to be here,” said Davison. “Although we had some ups and downs, we pushed through and I’m happy about that.”

After the mammoth win, PLDT mentor Rald Ricafort vowed to continue to pursue their goal of making it to the top four.

For Choco Mucho, they hope to get back on track with a win against Akari (2-3) in their 6 p.m. match.

Both PLDT and Choco Mucho are tied at No. 2 with 4-1 records.

A win would propel them to the top alongside Creamline at 5-1.

Meanwhile, Galeries Tower (1-4) and Strong Group Athletics (0-5) face off at 2 p.m. hoping to gain some measure of pride.
