PM Modi offers prayers at Parvati Kund in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday offered prayers at Parvati Kund in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh. Dressed in local traditional attire complete with a turban, he also played a power drum and conch shell while offering prayers at the spiritually significant Parvati Kund.
PM Modi also performed 'aarti' at the Shiva-Parvati temple situated along the banks of Parvati Kund in Jolingkong.
He then sought blessings and meditated for a brief period in front of the Adi Kailash peak, an abode of Lord Shiva.
During his day-long visit to Uttarakhand's Kumaon region, PM Modi paid a visit to the border village of Gunji where he interacted with locals and security personnel. Accompanied by Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, PM Modi attended an exhibition of local products and artefacts.

PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth Rs 4,200 crore in Pithoragarh. He will also address a public meeting.
