Political events banned in Manila ahead of Undas

MANILA, Philippines — In observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, political and private groups are prohibited from holding events in Manila from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, according to the city government.

Repairs and repainting of tombs at the Manila North and Manila South cemeteries are allowed until Oct. 26.

The public cemeteries will be open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Burials and cremations will be suspended during the period.

The Manila Police District and health personnel from the Ospital ng Tondo, Ospital ng Sampaloc and Sta. Ana Hospital will be ready for emergencies.

Portable toilets and e-tricycles will be deployed for free for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and pregnant women.

Meanwhile, seven truckloads of garbage around the cemeteries were collected by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
