Public warned vs sale of lost luggage at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines: The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Friday warned the public not to transact with fake online accounts claiming that lost pieces of luggage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) are on sale.

In a statement, the MIAA cited a Facebook post which says, «start of sales in 2023! From now on we will clear out the airport warehouse and sell luggage that have gone unchecked for six months. Ninoy Aquino Airport can dispose of these suitcases, organize a charity event and distribute the forgotten luggage for only P556.54.»

The airport authorities and the airline operators have clear and established protocols in safekeeping and disposing of lost or left behind items and selling these online is certainly not one of them.
