Quick look at the (super short) week ahead
Today and Friday are the only tradeable days on the market, and I think that says it all. I don’t have any events on the schedule that I’m tracking for this week.
MB bottom-line: Our “low-interest market” needs a two-day trading week like it needs a hole in the head, but it is what it is. On paper, this week should disappoint us with weak volume and poor performance. Maybe it’s a hint of superstition on my part, but it’s these quiet weeks that always catch my attention. Like in a horror movie when the friend group thinks that they’ve found a good place to hide and everyone loosens up and starts cracking jokes, a week like this makes my hair stand up and puts me on edge. I scan for shapes moving in the shadows. I constantly brace for the jumpscare. Maybe nothing happens, but I’m going to play Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) while I wait to get blind-sided on this idle Tuesday.
