Retired judge dies in road mishap

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A retired judge died while seven others were injured in a vehicular accident in Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday.

Gael Paderangga, 72, former judge in one of the courts in the city, was declared dead on arrival in a hospital, according to the Cagayan de Oro police.

Paderangga was traveling along the highway near the old aiport when his car, a Kia Sorrento, collided with a Toyota Revo driven by Joshua Dequiña, 46.

Dequiña and his six companions were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
