Senate confirms worker's death at construction site

THE Senate confirmed on Friday the death of a worker at the construction site of the New Senate Building at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Initial report said the unidentified victim accidentally fell from an unspecified floor of the North Tower at around 10:00 p.m.

Senate spokesman Arnel Jose Bañas said in a statement that Senate President Francis Escudero was immediately informed of the incident. He added an investigation was ongoing.

The Senate has extended its condolences to the family of the deceased.

Tighter security measures were implemented in the area to prevent a similar incident.
