SOUTHVILLE International School and Colleges (SISC) in Las Piñas City will host a vibrant cultural exchange program between the Philippines and Singapore on Monday, April 1, 2024.

In collaboration with the Nanyang Polytechnic of Singapore, Oikos Helping Hand, Agape Academy, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Youth Organization Philippines and United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines, the initiative aims to foster global understanding and collaboration among students from both nations.

The event is the culmination of the Nanyang Polytechnic Youth Expedition Project (YEP) Philippines 2024, facilitated by Youth Corps Singapore. This service-learning program cultivates confident and resilient youths, nurturing their active citizenship and global engagement.

The cultural exchange program will feature diverse activities, from traditional dance performances and cultural showcases to language exchanges and collaborative art projects. With the core objective of promoting cultural appreciation and camaraderie, participants will delve into the rich tapestry of Filipino and Singaporean heritage.

Singapore Ambassador to the Philippines Constance See, Filipino political scientist Clarita Carlos, and diplomat Gary Domingo are set to grace the event as speakers. Their expertise and insights promise to enrich discussions on global issues and facilitate meaningful dialogue between participants.

Renowned visual artist Emmanuel Garibay will elevate the cultural exchange program with his captivating works, showcasing the power of art in conveying societal narratives and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Asean Youth Organization Philippines partnerships head Hugo Santos and The Manila Times Campus Press editor Arlo Custodio will also share their experiences in their respective professions to inspire the youth attendees.
