[SPLIT News Alert] DAR Equips DENR to Accelerate Land Titling Efforts Under Project SPLIT

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Office Assistant Secretary and concurrent Deputy Project Implementation Officer of Project SPLIT Josef Angelo S. Martires spearheaded the turnover of 80 units of specialized laptops to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to boost its capacity in performing their role under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling Project (SPLIT) Project or Project SPLIT.

DENR is a major partner agency of the DAR in the implementation of Project SPLIT particularly in terms of Land Classification (LC) Map projection, inspection, verification, and approval of survey plans for collective Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CCLOAs), and issuance of other documents if CCLOAs is within forest or timberland,

Martires highlighted the importance of communication and collaboration between government agencies, stating, “We, at DAR, hope that the equipment we give you today will benefit your team. Let us commit to continuously improve our communication practices inter-agency. By doing so, we will not only enhance Project SPLIT but we could also build a foundation for future successes.”

As a tangible support to the DENR, DAR has allocated Php 21.38 million for additional manpower and ICT equipment to the DENR. This includes the hiring of 14 Contract of Service (COS) personnel, provision of 47 units of desktops in CY 2023, and delivery of 80 units of laptops for CY 2024.

Of the total 80 units, 10 units were distributed to the DENR Forest Management Bureau, 13 units to the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), and two (2) units to the Land Management Bureau (LMB), while 55 units were received by the DENR Regional Field Offices to further enhance their operational capacity.
