[SPLIT News Alert] House passes DAR 2025 budget in plenary session

The House of Representatives concluded the plenary deliberations and approved the proposed P11.101 billion budget of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) for 2025, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Aklan Representative Teodorico Haresco Jr., principal sponsor of DAR budget, presented the agency's proposal and addressed inquiries from the members of the house of representatives regarding the allocation, which is an increase from the P8.579 billion it received for 2024.

“The approval of the budget proposal will enable the DAR to continue their accelerated distribution of land to Filipino farmers and their targeted support services for agrarian reform beneficiaries. With the budget, the DAR can keep on implementing, facilitating and coordinating support services to our beloved farmers,” Haresco said.

The budget increase will also sustain the parcelization efforts under Project SPLIT (Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling Project which aims to convert collective CLOAs into individual e-titles, allowing the farmers increased access to credit facilities for their capital needs.

Northern Samar Representative Paul Daza expressed gratitude to Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III and other DAR officials, for their dedication and commended their efforts to improve the livelihood of Filipino farmers. He pledged continued support for the department’s initiatives, particularly to the goal of achieving food security for every Filipino.
