SSS sets Dec. 29 deadline for unclaimed UMID cards
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 22) — The Social Security System (SSS) on Tuesday advised that members who applied for Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) cards from August 2017 to December 2020 should claim them by Dec. 29 this year.
“After the deadline, the unclaimed cards, including those that the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) returned to SSS after two unsuccessful delivery attempts, will be disposed of based on SSS’ retention policy,” SSS said in its advisory posted on Facebook.
UMID is an all-in-one valid ID for all transactions with SSS, Government Service Insurance System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Pag-IBIG Fund.
SSS has stopped issuing regular UMID cards since February of this year, but it is currently offering UMID ATM Pay Card to members who either have existing regular cards or pending UMID card applications.
The agency said members can check the status of their UMID card applications through their online account.
