Traveler stopped from going to Seoul over arrest warrant issued in 2018

A 51-year-old woman was prevented from flying to Seoul, South Korea due to an arrest warrant issued against her six years ago.

The Philippine National Police — Aviation Security Group (PNP-Avsegroup) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport said the Filipino had just presented her travel documents to an Bureau of Immigration (BI) officer on October 18, 2024, when the warrant against her appeared in the BI data system.

The passenger, a resident of Taguig City, was ordered arrested in January 2018 for violation of BP 22, commonly known as the Bouncing Check Law.

A bail of P2,000 was recommended.

Aviation police said the woman was taken to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Quezon City for documentation and further legal action.
