Two held for brandishing shotgun in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — Two men were arrested for allegedly brandishing a shotgun in Taguig on Tuesday night.

Brian Torres, 22, and Robi Ushi Mitsui Santos, 18, were arrested in Barangay Napindan at around 9:30 p.m., National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a message on Viber.

Nartatez said police on routine anti-crime patrol operations noticed the suspects and two other men in possession of a shotgun while in a Toyota Corolla sedan.

When police approached the vehicle, the suspects sped off and a chase ensued.

Upon reaching the corner of C6 Road and Earth Road, the suspects alighted from their vehicle and scampered in different directions.

Torres and Santos were apprehended while their companions escaped.

Seized from the suspects were shotgun and three bullets.

The suspects are being held on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, threat and resistance and disobedience to persons in authority.
