Umapad gikoronahang overall champion sa 1st Ouano-Dizon Congressional Cup | Banat

CEBU, Philippines — Ang Barangay Umapad maoy gibayaw nga overall champion sa bag-ohay pang natapos nga 1st Mandaue Ouano-Dizon Congressional Cup (ODCC) Basketball and Volleyball Tournaments nga gisalmotan sa 1,800 ka mga atleta gikan sa 27 ka mga barangay sa dakbayan.

Usa dayon ka maanindot nga balita ang miabot sa mga Mandauehanons tungod kay sa pormal nga awarding ceremony, si Mandaue City Lone District Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon nga maoy nagpasiugda sa maong kalihukan misaad og mas dako ug mas nindot nga torneyo sunod tuig.

“Extraordinary things await us. And we are just getting started. See you next season,” matud pa ni  Ouano-Dizon ngadto sa bagang bul-og sa mga tawo nga nagdasok didto sa Barangay Opao gymnasium.   

“Sa atong pagpasiugda sa what is now the biggest sports event of the year dinhi sa dakbayan sa Mandaue, my heart is filled with so much happiness and pride, that Mandauehanons were given the chance to experience the thrill, the excitement, the grace in defeat, and the humility in victory."

"Most important of all, the ODCC has given us a chance to show our unity, our sportsmanship, our teamwork. Pinaagi sa ODCC, napakita nato that everything is possible with hardwork,” dugang pa niya. Si Ouano-Dizon nagpasalamat sa tanan nga nakatampo sa naglagiting nga kalamposan sa mahinungdanon nilang kalihukan.

Sa laing bahin, ang Umapad volleyball team gikoronahang kampiyon sa women’s category ug first runner-up sa men's class.

Si Dyan Darantinao gipasidunggan nga Most Valuable Player, si Cherry Sumayang ang Best Setter, si Pamela Sumayang ang Beat Libero, si Rochelle Rica Son ang Best Server, ug si Janelle Cabahug ang Best Open Hitter.

Ang mga pambato sa Tipolo nga sila si Rhea Fuentes ug Mary Grace Melendres maoy Best Opposite Hitter ug Best Blocker. Ang ubang individual awardees sa Umapad sa men's mao sila si Royet Varga isip Best Setter ug Jewel Cabahug isip Best Server.
