Villar: NP remains formidable in Las Piñas
SEN. Cynthia Villar said that the Nacionalista Party (NP), the oldest political party in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, remains a force to be reckoned with in Las Piñas City.
Villar added that NP's popularity in the place was a legacy that traces back to her father, Dr. Filemon Aguilar, who held the positions of mayor (1964–1986) and congressman (1987–1992) in the Las Piñas-Muntinlupa area.
NP's influence was evident in the number of elected Las Piñas officials from its ranks.

Manny Villar, former House speaker and Senate president and one of the country's wealthiest men, is the president of NP. Among its ranks are the majority of incumbent local officials.
«It is no wonder why the NP and Villars continue to enjoy the support of Las Piñeros. The family's established reputation for competence, its extensive national network, and political alliances, as well as its deeply-rooted relations with the communities, are all important in addressing local needs,» Villar said.
