WATCH: 'House of the Dragon' releases official Season 2 trailer

MANILA, Philippines — Westeros takes sides in war as "House of the Dragon" dropped the official trailer for its much-anticipated second season.

"The Targaryen who sits the Iron Throne is not just a king or a queen, they are a Protector of the Realm," a voice narrates as the opening of the trailer.

The video reintroduces the show's main characters — Emma D'Arcy's Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith's Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke's Alicent Hightower and Tom Glynn-Carney's Aegon Targaryen II.

Rhaenyra reiterates the throne was taken away from her, and Daemon tells ally Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) that they are flying to King's Landing.

In the capital, Aegon gathers his council for war plans overseen by his Hand and maternal grandfather, Otto Hightower, played by Rhys Ifans.

"Proceed cautiously," Alicent tells Aegon. He retorts, "F**k dignity! I want revenge."

Dragons fly and armies assemble as Otto affirms there are great Houses that will back them. Daemon sarcastically says, "I did not think they would be so eager to die."

More characters are shown like Steve Toussaint's Corlys Velaryon, Ewan Mitchell's Aemond Targaryen, Fabien Frenkel's Cristen Cole and Sonoya Mizuno's Mysaria, who claims there is more to warfare than swords clashing.

Scenes of fights on land and in the air close the trailer, as Rhaenyra says before the title card flashes, "War is coming, and neither of us may win."

The second season of "House of the Dragon" premieres in the Philippines on June 17. — Video from HBO Max's YouTube channel
