1-2 tropical cyclones seen this month - Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines: THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said one to two tropical cyclones could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this month.

Earlier, Pagasa predicted that 13 to 16 storms may form or enter PAR until the end of the year.

Weather specialist Robert Badrina said the frontal system or surface — defined as a transition boundary separating two masses of contracting properties like temperature and humidity – is affecting Batanes and Cagayan.

It will bring overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in those areas, he said.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours and thunderstorms could prevail in most parts of the country including Metro Manila due to the easterlies – winds that come from the east and pass through the Pacific Ocean, the weather bureau said in its 5 a.m. advisory.

Other parts of the country will have warm and humid weather.
