2 contractors fined for unfinished EDSA projects
THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will fine two contractors that failed to complete their projects along EDSA.
The unfinished projects have been causing heavy traffic on the major highway.
MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said only 24 of the 40 excavations assigned to the two contractors for fiber optic installations have been completed so far.
Artes said the contractors blamed the delay to an error in the schedule for delivering cement.
He said the diggings were simply abandoned and there were no traffic cones to warn motorists.
The MMDA has yet to determine the exact amount the contractors will have to pay, Artes said, but about P50,000 is expected to be charged for each unfinished excavation.
