2 die in Quezon road mishap

CALAUAG, Quezon, Philippines — Two persons died and three others were injured when two vehicles collided along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sta. Maria in this town yesterday.

Police said a wing van truck driven by Robert Segador, 35, collided with a Toyota HiAce driven by Sajad Murajie, 40, in the opposite direction.

Murajie was pinned by the truck and died at the scene.

Danny Cruz, 60, and Sunshine Bandin, 32, were injured.

Segador was taken to the St. Peter General Hospital for treatment.

In Sariaya, nine students were injured when their tricycle was hit by a refrigerated van, also along Maharlika Highway.

The van driver, Jerome Jacinto, faces charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple injuries and damage to properties.
