Quezon City crime rate down 35 percent
MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported yesterday a 35 percent reduction in weekly index crimes in the city.
In a statement, the QCPD said crimes such as murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, theft, robbery, car and motorcycle theft dropped from 40 cases posted from Oct. 9 to 15 to 26 cases from Oct. 16 to 22.
This is equivalent to a 35 percent reduction in Quezon City’s crime rate.
Street crimes also decreased by 25 percent, according to the QCPD.
Meanwhile, the QCPD launched intensified anti-crime operations and set up Commission on Elections checkpoints in the city as the village and youth council election nears.
