2 ex-employees tagged in guard’s beheading

MANILA, Philippines — Police are preparing charges against two former employees of a car dealership where a guard was beheaded in Quezon City last month, an official said yesterday.

Maj. Dondon Llapitan, who heads the Quezon City Police District’s criminal investigation and detection unit, said charges of robbery with homicide may be filed within the week against Michael Caballero and Joemar Organes before the city prosecutor’s office.

The two men were identified as suspects in the killing of 50-year-old Alfredo Tabin, whose decapitated body was found in the Ford Balintawak showroom in Barangay Apolonio Samson on Dec. 25, 2023.

Llapitan, in an interview aired over GMA News on Monday, said the suspects – who worked as a driver and barista for the dealership – robbed the company after an agent sold two vehicles.

Based on their investigation, Llapitan said the suspects killed Tabin to silence him.

Tabin apparently knew the suspects, the reason there were no signs of struggle or forced entry at the scene of the killing.
