2 marathon events makakatulong sa turismo | Pang-Masa

MANILA, Philippines — Malaki ang maitutulong sa Philippine tourism ng idaraos na Samsung Galaxy Watch Manila Marathon at Cebu Half-Marathon.

Inihalimbawa ni Rio dela Cruz ng main organizer na RunRio ang maibibigay na suporta ng mga nasabing marathon event sa turismo ng isang bansa.

“When you look at other countries they have the Bangkok Marathon then they have one in Ho Chih Minh, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. We hope to make this the flagship ma­rathon in the Philippines,” ani Dela Cruz kahapon sa Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Pakakawalan ang Manila Marathon sa Oktubre 6 na planong idaan sa Pasay, Parañaque, Manila, Makati at Taguig.

Nakalatag sa event ang 5K, 10K, 21k at 42K at magsisimula at matatapos sa Mall of Asia grounds sa Pasay City. Higit sa 4,000 runners na ang nagpalista para sa Manila Marathon.

“We want these races to be as big as they can,” ani Dela Cruz sa forum na inihandog ng San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Phi­lippine Olympic Committee, Smart/PLDT, MILO at ArenaPlus, ang leading sports entertainment sa bansa.

Nakatakda naman ang Cebu Half-Marathon sa Nobyembre 24 at magkakaroon ng mga legs sa Baguio, Clark, Bataan, Manila, Legazpi, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao, Cagayan de Oro at Dapitan.
