AN initial 20,000 automated counting machines (ACM), out of a total of 110,000 units to be used in the 2025 midterm polls, will soon be received by the Bureau of Customs (BoC), Commission on Elections Chairman George Erwin Garcia said Wednesday.
Garcia also said that Comelec is coordinating with the BoC for the arrival of the counting machines that were manufactured and customized at the facilities of the winning bidder in South Korea.
According to Garcia, the 20,000 machines will be tested upon arrival to determine if they work in accordance with the terms of reference and other customization agreements between Comelec and the joint venture of Miru Systems.
