5 more Filipinos to arrive from Jordan after West Bank exit
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 24) — The second batch of Filipinos from Jordan is set to arrive home on Friday after they safely crossed the West Bank amid the ongoing hostilities between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas, the Philippine Embassy in Jordan said.
«The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has led to a corresponding increase in the level of violence in the West Bank and made the five Filipinos, consisting of two OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) and a family of three, decide to return to the Philippines,» the embassy said in a statement.
«The Philippine Embassy in Amman made appropriate representations with the authorities to facilitate their entry from the West Bank to Jordan,» it added.
