AFP names first female spokesperson

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 15) — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has its first lady spokesperson in Lt. Col. Francel Margareth Padilla.

AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. announced the designation in a press briefing on Monday, where Col. Medel Aguilar officially turned over the role.

Padilla holds an extensive military experience, particularly in the information systems management division.

She also bagged the recognition of Cybersecurity Woman Leader for the year 2023.
