AGRARIAN REFORM BENEFICIARIES IN ILOILO RECEIVE INDIVIDUAL LAND TITLES

ILOILO- the Department of Agrarian Reform Iloilo Provincial Office facilitated the distribution of individual Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) to Farmer-beneficiaries in the Municipalities of Bingawan, Calinog, and Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo. A total of 42 CLOAs were distributed to 30 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) covering an area of 67.5045 hectares.

In her message, Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Ma. Chona P. Abellar of the DAR Municipal Office (DARMO) Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo said, “the newly received titles signify the ultimate ownership over the awarded lands. Being an ARB, it is your obligation to diligently cultivate the land to make it more productive to improve the quality of your lives”.

Meanwhile, MARPO Mercy Caspillo of DARMO Bingawan and Calinog, Iloilo urges the ARBs to pay their taxes and to enroll themselves in DAR-assisted cooperatives to avail various support services and other benefits.

“I am very thankful to the employees of the DAR who delivered and distributed our land titles despite the scorching heat of the sun. I am truly glad especially to our President [Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.] for implementing this program for the benefit of the local farmers”, expressed by Hernane Tirador, 84, resident of Brgy. Tabucan, Calinog, Iloilo.

Having formal rights and ownership of the land, the ARBs in the Province of Iloilo will most likely uplift their socio-economic condition, improve and sustain their livelihood, increase income for their families, as well as intensify their agricultural productivity through access to support services towards ensuring food security and food sufficiency of the country.
