Agraryo Trade Fair 2024 showcases ARB products for International Rural Women's Day

The Agraryo Trade Fair 2024 kicks off International Rural Women’s Day celebrations at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Central Office on Tuesday, October 15, and will run through until October 18. The four-day event showcases a wide array of food and non-food products, furniture, handicrafts, and organic products produced by agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from various regions, highlighting the theme, “Kababaihan sa Kanayunan:

Kabalikat sa Repormang Agraryo para sa Maunlad at Matatag na Bagong Pilipinas.” Organized by the Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development (BARBD) under Undersecretary for Support Services Rowena Niña Taduran, the fair aims to boost ARBs' entrepreneurial skills, particularly among women, while providing greater exposure to potential buyers and partners.

“We are hoping that the Agraryo Trade Fair will strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit among the ARBs especially the women, as well as generate a positive public perception of ARB products," said Taduran. She added that ARBs are continually being assisted by the DAR to strengthen their farming and selling capabilities to maintain their planting, harvesting, and product creation businesses.

The event is in line with DAR’s gender and development goals, ensuring gender-related initiatives are integrated into its programs nationwide.

The opening ceremony will take place on October 15, 2024, at the DAR Central Office in Quezon City, featuring special guests including Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, DITO Telecommunications Chief Revenue Officer Atty. Adel Tamano, and Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Executive Director Atty. Khay Ann C. Magundayao-Borlado.
