Angat water level still rising
MANILA, Philippines — The water level in Angat Dam increased by .45 meters yesterday and is expected to surpass its target elevation of 212 meters before the end of the year, according to the Metropolitan Water Works and Sewerage System (MWSS).
As of 6 a.m. yesterday, the water level in Angat was recorded at 210 meters.
“We anticipate surpassing our target elevation of 212 meters by end of December, considering the current weather disturbance that our watershed is experiencing right now due to the shear line,” MWSS division manager Patrick Dizon said in a message to The STAR.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the shear line is expected to bring rains in many areas in the country.
Dizon said rains would ensure enough water at the reservoir before the anticipated impact of the El Niño phenomenon.
