Anthony Jennings on Maris Racal pairing: 'Nagsimula 'yung love team sa tae'

MANILA, Philippines — Stepping on poop can be double-edged. On one hand, it can be an accident that scares most adults because it can lead to an embarrasing episode of trying to get rid of its horrid smell on one's shoes (and possibly a trail of fecal matter along the way!).

On the other hand, it can be a sign of good luck as believed by many cultures. 

It is the latter case for Anthony Jennings and Maris Racal, as the pair is currently the trending TV couple, SnoRene, from the TV show "Can't Buy Me Love." 

They are not the show's main couple as it has Donny Pangilinan as Bingo and Belle Mariano as Caroline as its leads. 

Maris and Anthony are among the able supporting cast to DonBelle's first TV teleserye after the web series "He's Into Her." 

Anthony is Snoop, close friend to Donny's Bingo. Both of them are street-smart and are always finding ways to earn money. 

Somehow, Bingo crosses path with Belle's Caroline, one of the daughters of the rich Chinese-Filipino family, the Tius. Caroline has a bratty step-sister named Irene, played by Maris. 

As the main leads cross path, so do Snoop and Irene, and they do in the most funny way — through poop. 

"Cute 'yung eksena nila. Nagsimula 'yung love team nila sa tae... Walang gano'n noon. First time na nagsimula 'yung love team ninyo sa tae," said Anthony. 

The actor recently sat with the press for a late afternoon tete-a-tete organized by his talent agency, Star Magic. 

He referred to one viral meme where Irene unwittingly steps on a mound of poop. Snoop tries to warn her, but she was trying to avoid him. While doing so, she steps on it. This caused Irene to make a scene as the bratty rich girl screaming her heart out for Snoop to get rid of the poop out of the sole of her designer shoes. When she did not get her way, she calls for her security who carries her out of the place while crying about stepping on poop in her rich Taglish accent.

Anthony, who is not entirely a new face because he was launched alongside Donny a few years back, said he is still surprised and overwhelmed with his and Maris' current popularity. 

"Nagugulat. First time kong nakikilala ng lahat e. Siyempre overwhelmed," he said.
