Bey wants to ‘run it back’ with Magnolia

MANILA, Philippines – Despite failing to secure a PBA championship for the Hotshots, Magnolia import Tyler Bey is open to return to the league.

Bey, who was a contender for Best Import of the Conference in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, and the Hotshots came up short against eventual champion San Miguel.

The Beermen won the championship in Game 6 of the series on Wednesday.

Bey, after the game, said he is hoping that they could “run it back.”

“For me, personally, I love the Philippines, love Magnolia, hopefully we could run it back,” Bey told reporters.

“Other than that, I mean we didn’t get the result we wanted, but I just felt like we have a group of guys, met guys that I could call family. Like I said I just hope we could run it back and go from there,” he added.

In the recently concluded conference, Bey averaged 27.6 points, 14.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 11 elimination games.

He also had 2.3 steals and 1.1 blocks a game.

With these numbers, he led Magnolia to the top of the standings and then to the finals.

“Yeah, for sure [I would like to return.] No doubt. I would love to come back,” Bey said.

In Game 6, the import finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
