Bicol Region wage board sets public consultation

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – Region V is set to hold tomorrow, (Friday, a public consultation for the proposed minimum wage rate adjustment in the Bicol Region.

In a social media post, the Bicol Region wage board said it will hold the public consultation at Villa Isabel Hotel in Sorsogon City from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – V will hold a wage consultation in Sorsogon to discuss minimum wage adjustments for private sector workers and kasambahays,” said the Bicol Region wage board.

It said extensive participation among stakeholders is imperative in order for the RTWPB-V to come out with a good decision.

“This session aims to gather insights and feedback on wage issues and potential increases, ensuring a comprehensive review of current wage conditions,” said the board.

It was back on December 1, 2023 when the wage orders for workers in the private sector and domestic workers took effect.

The Wage Order No. V-21 provided a P30 pay hike to bring the daily minimum wage rate for private sector workers to P395.

On the other hand, the Wage Order No. RBV-DW-03 raised the minimum wage per month of domestic workers to P5,000 after a P1,000 wage increase.
