Ilocos Region wage board sets public hearing

THE Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – Region I is set to hold a public hearing on September 24 in San Fernando City, La Union to tackle the adjustment of minimum wages for private establishments and household helpers in the Ilocos Region.

In a public notice, the Ilocos Region wage board said the public hearing with stakeholders is set at 1 p.m. at Dencio’s Bar And Grill Restaurant in Barangay Pagdalagan Norte, San Fernando.

“(We will be) holding a public hearing to discuss the adjustment of minimum wages for private establishments and kasambahays in Region I,” said the Ilocos Region wage board.

It said all stakeholders are being encouraged to attend the public hearing to share their views and suggestions on the proposed wage adjustments and understand how the changes may affect them.

“This public hearing aims to gather feedback from various stakeholders, including employees, employers, and the kasambahays, to ensure that wage adjustments are equitable and beneficial for all,” the RTWPB-I said.

The last wage orders for the private sector workers and kasambahays of RTWPB-I took effect on November 6, 2023.

Wage Order No. RB1-22 set the daily minimum wage rate for private sector workers from P402 to P435.

On the other hand, Wage Order No. RB 1-DW-04 established the monthly minimum wage rate for kasambahays at P5,500.
