Bill proposes 24/7 frontline govt services
AGRI Party-list Rep. Wilbert Lee on May 20 filed a bill that seeks to institutionalize a 24/7 government Frontline Service System, or House Bill (HB)10426.
«This measure will give people who are working or studying mostly during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. a chance to avail of government services without compromising their jobs or daily tasks,» Lee said in a statement on Monday.
«This way, the hassle of going to the office is needed only when the document is ready to be released. Applicants for some services need not spend for transportation, or skip their work, or wait in line at government offices for simple inquiries,» he said.
Agri Party-list Rep. Wilbert LeeHB 10426 mandates government offices to «provide a list of their frontline services that can be delivered without face-to-face interaction.»
Also, it mandates the «frontline services and the response team at the office» to be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The measure «aims to institutionalize the use of the internet and social media in availing frontline services.»
