Bossing secure 3rd straight win, disconnect FiberXers

MANILA, Philippines -- The Blackwater Bossing rolled to their third straight win after completely demolishing the Converge FiberXers, 90-78, in a wire-to-wire affair in the PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday evening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Rookie Christian David led five Blackwater players in double digits with 16 points and five boards off the bench.

The Bossing started red-hot right from the get-go, turning a 7-6 lead to a 30-14 cushion at the end of the first quarter.

The blitz continued in the second quarter as the lead grew to 29, 58-29, at the half.

The lead ballooned to as much as 35 points, 70-35, in the third quarter with a 3-pointer by Rey Suerte.

After a David layup gave Blackwater a 24 point lead, 90-66, with about four minutes to go in the game, Converge unleashed 12 straight points to cut the deficit to 12, 90-78.

The run, however, came too late.

Rey Suerte backstopped Blackwater with 14 points, while RK Ilagan and Richard Escoto finished with 12 markers apiece.

Troy Rosario had 10 points in 24 minutes. The comebacking Rey Nambatac finished with seven points, eight assists and six rebounds.

Alec Stockton led the FiberXers anew with 24 points and eight boards.
Schonny Winston added 22 off the bench.

Blackwater is now holding a 3-0 card, while Converge fell to 0-3.
