CABC’s 1st Mortabond Cup blasts off today | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The 1st Mortabond Cup of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) gets underway today (Sunday, August 18) at the Benedicto College-Cebu City Campus gym.

Before the games, a simple opening ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to team up with Mortabond as they introduce their brand to Cebu. We’re also eager to showcase the teams that will bring their best to this tournament,” said CABC chairman Paolo Alberto in a press conference at Club Filipino in FGU Ayala Tower on Friday, August 16.

Alberto was joined by CABC co-chairman Oliver Tan and Mortabond COO Louie Loo.

Six teams representing Mortabond’s products are seeing action in the month-long tilt.

These are the Mortaseal, Strakgrout, Mortaflow, Brute, Ezbond, and Lite.

They will play under a single round robin format in the elimination.

The top two qualifiers will gain automatic entry to the semifinals, while the No.3 and No.4 seeds will enjoy twice-to-beat advantage over their lower ranked foes in the quarterfinals.

The semis and the championship are both sudden-death matches. — (FREEMAN)
