Car crashes on EDSA busway, snarls traffic

MANILA, Philippines — A car crashed into the barriers along the EDSA busway in Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong yesterday afternoon, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported.

The driver told traffic enforcers that his car’s wheels burst, causing the accident.

The crash, which happened at around 1:16 p.m., caused traffic jams along the southbound lane of EDSA.

The car was towed by the MMDA Road Emergency Group at 2:46 p.m.

The flow of traffic along EDSA-Boni eased after a few minutes, the MMDA said.

No one was reported injured in the accident.
