CMIP, TESDA-NCR forge technical education partnership

MANILA, Philippines — Concepcion Midea Inc. Philippines (CMIP) has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority - NCR (TESDA-NCR) to enhance technical education.

The collaboration focuses on establishing a modern Technical Training Hub, equipped with the latest tools, targeting HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Airconditioning) and Home Appliance repair programs. It aims to produce a skilled technical workforce aligned with TESDA’s regulations.

The memorandum of agreement signing included the presence of Anna Marie Alejandro, CMIP’s general manager; Carmelo Layugan Jr.; Engr. Jovencio Ferrer Jr., regional director for TESDA NCR; Leonardo Pinlac, district director for TESDA CAMANAVA; and John Rey Tiangco, city mayor of Navotas.

“This memorandum of agreement signing signifies more than just a formal commitment, it represents a milestone that collaborates effort between TESDA-Navotas, CMIP, and the city of Navotas. Together, we are dedicated to achieving a common goal, the establishment of an accessible, relevant, and conducive training facility for Filipinos who wish to learn and improve their technical skills,” Alejandro said.

Engr. Jovencio Ferrer Jr., regional director of TESDA NCR, emphasized the importance of reaching those who stand to benefit from the partnership.

"All of the primary concerns they face currently will be solved only if they have a livelihood, which we aim to provide," Ferrer said.

Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco expressed gratitude for the partnership, highlighting its potential impact on the community.

"This will especially be of huge help to our trainees studying HVAC who, hopefully, will also become a Midea employee in the future. On behalf of every Navoteño that this collaboration will be able to support, we are very grateful for this partnership," Tiangco said.

Founded in 2013, CMIP combines local expertise with Midea's global innovation, reflecting a commitment to uplifting and empowering the Filipino community.
