Police investigators said the incident occurred at around 2:45 p.m. when Orlanes and other policemen from the Anonas police station responded to a reported dispute at Tent City Pook Arboretum.

When Orlanes alighted from a patrol vehicle, suspect Brian Boldero, 37, had just beaten up a resident of the area.

Boldero resisted when policemen tried to subdue him and stabbed Orlanes in his left arm.

Orlanes was brought to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center for medical treatment.

The suspect was arrested in a follow-up operation. A knife measuring 5.5 inches was seized from him.

Police are preparing complaints against Boldero for serious physical injury and direct assault with frustrated homicide before the Quezon City prosecutor’s office.
