Cordillera, Bicol, Eastern Visayas issue wage orders

THREE more Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) yesterday granted wage hikes for private sector and domestic workers in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Bicol Region (Region V), and Eastern Visayas (Region VIII).

In separate wage orders, the regional wage boards of CAR, Region V, and Region VIII granted salary adjustments that were affirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).

“A total of 150,484 minimum wage earners across three regions are expected to directly benefit from the wage increases,” said the NWPC.

“The new wage orders are expected to benefit around 162,970 domestic workers,” it added.

In the Cordilleras, the CAR wage board issued motu proprio Wage Order No. CAR-22 granting a P30 increase in the daily minimum wage.

This brings the new daily minimum wage rate in the region to P430 and shall apply to all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of their position, designation, or status and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid.

The CAR wage board also motu proprio issued Wage Order No. RB-CAR-DW-05 increasing the monthly minimum wage of kasambahays by P400.

This means that domestic workers in the region will now receive a monthly rate of P4,900.
The CAR wage orders are set to take effect on December 5, 2023.

The Bicol Region wage board has issued Wage Order No. RBV-21 provides a P30 increase for all minimum wage workers in private establishments in the region.

The latest wage order in Region V brings the daily minimum wage in the region to P395.

The Region V wage board likewise issued motu proprio Wage Order No. RBV-DW-03 that grants a monthly increase of P1,000 for kasambahays.

The wage order increases the monthly minimum wage rate of domestic workers in Region V to P5,000.

The wage orders in the Bicol Region shall take effect on December 1, 2023.

The Eastern Visayas wage board issued Wage Order No. RB VIII-23 provides a P30 wage increase in the daily minimum wage.
