Creamline makes short work of F2

MANILA, Philippines — Creamline showed no mercy in its 25-19, 25-21, 25-16 decimation of fierce rival F2 Logistics last night to remain unscathed and unflappable in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Cool Smashers were nothing short of impeccable as they dominated the Cargo Movers with their relentless attacking game and superb net and floor defense in snaring their sixth straight win in as many games and keeping their stranglehold of the solo lead.

It was the fourth win by the mighty Rebisco-owned franchise over F2 in five heated encounters this year but this one was the most lopsided with the former showing unshakeable resolve.

The Cargo Movers stumbled to 4-3.

Earlier, Farm Fresh claimed its breakthrough victory in the PVL in the form of a 25-17, 25-17, 25-15 decision over Gerflor.

“Sobra happy nanalo kami, nagbunga lahat sacrifices namin sa training,” said Farm Fresh setter Louie Romero, who shone brightest in the franchise’s historic win with 13 excellent sets and two hits.

Farm Fresh debuted in the Invitational Conference last June but has dropped 12 straight games – five in its maiden conference where it wound up 11th and dead last and the rest on the current one.

In the other game, Nxled shocked sister team Akari, 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-16, to improve to 2-5.

May Luna paced the Chameleons with 14 points while Jhoanna Maraguinot and Lycha Ebon chipped 13 and 12 hits, respectively.

It was a stunning defeat for Akari (4-3), which came in as the slight favorite due to a better record. But the Chargers couldn’t live up to hype and slipped to 3-4.
